Droughts , soil degradation, increasingly unstable climate with frequent extreme weather events. Farmers all over Europe look for solutions that go beyond the conventional agriculture practices and respond to the challenges of the modern day. With its many benefits, agroforestry, or planting of trees together with agricultural crops or livestock, is quickly becoming such a solution. Can it make our food production more resilient? Does it have the potential to heal the wounds caused by large-scale industrial agriculture? And what obstacles do the agroforestry pioneers face?
Join us for a film night in one of Brno's oldest cinemas as we explore agroforestry farms from the Czech Republic, to Sweden and the Netherlands. Screening will be followed by a short panel discussion with film directors and protagonists and an afterparty in the adjacent Café Art where you'll have the chance to taste wine and cheese from local agroforestry farmers.
Film night is a side event of the European Agroforestry Conference held in Brno between 27-31st May and is open to conference participants as well as the wide public.
